Jaime is an accomplished technologist and vendor strategy professional with over 15 years in the software industry. He is currently leading the Cloud Product Management team for Progress Software. Prior to dedicating his focus on the cloud, Jaime held a number of technical and business roles that focused on bringing new products to market and building successful businesses around them in the Business Process Management, Complex Event Processing, and Integration/SOA market landscapes. In his technical past, Jaime was the lead architect on the industry’s first Enterprise Service Bus that revolutionized the application integration market and replaced traditional EAI. Jaime is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds both graduate and under-graduate degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He is based out of the Progress DataDirect offices in Morrisville, NC.

Jared Wray is founder and CTO of Tier 3. Jared founded Tier 3 in 2006 and today is the visionary architect of the company's enterprise-class cloud management platform. To enable customers moving to IT as a Service, Jared has architected Tier 3’s cloud with advanced automation, orchestration, and fabric services. As the originator of the Iron Foundry open source PaaS project, Wray is a thought leader in the evolution of enterprise cloud services. A serial entrepreneur, Wray previously founded Dual, an interactive development firm with clients such as Microsoft and Nintendo.

Seema is the Director of Product Management at Enstratius and has more than 10 years of experience in enterprise software development.

Prior to joining Enstratius, she was a cloud computing strategist at IBM and was responsible for competitive product, pricing, messaging, and sales strategy for IBM Tivoli's cloud solutions. Additionally Seema is a member of the steering committee for CloudNOW, a non-profit consortium of the leading women in cloud computing. She holds an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, an MS in computer science from North Carolina State University, and a BE in computer engineering from the University of Mumbai.

Dave Bartoletti has developed, delivered, and marketed emerging technologies for more than 20 years as a software executive at several high-profile technology and financial services leaders. He was at the forefront of the virtualization, data center automation, messaging middleware, and cloud computing technology waves as both vendor and consumer. Dave advises Forrester clients on data center infrastructure technologies, including server, desktop and storage virtualization technologies, cloud computing strategies, and data center management and automation. He also has many years of experience addressing the unique requirements of the global financial services industry.

Jim has nearly 20 years of technical hardware and software industry experience. Over the past 8 years with FrontRange Solutions, Jim has been responsible for overseeing the product strategy, delivery and launch of next generation IT Service Management solutions. His most recent accomplishments include the launch of the FrontRange ITSM Enterprise, Service Catalog and HEAT Cloud Solutions. Prior to his current role, Jim served in several technical leadership positions for both GoldMine and Bendata Corporation, predecessor companies to FrontRange Solutions.

Scott Jackson is the Business Development Director of AppFirst, a New York technology company leading the development of next generation Software as a Service (SaaS) based application-aware infrastructure performance management solutions. Built from the ground up with a Big Data architecture, AppFirst supports and simplifies continuous collection of machine data and business metrics across on premise, remote and cloud deployments. Dashboard and API interfaces enable visibility into the behavior and performance of applications across the entire application stack, regardless of language, application type or server (cloud, physical or virtual servers). Jackson’s experience includes management positions with Oracle, Microsoft and startup software companies focused on database management, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), workflow, and performance management solutions.

Dave McCrory is the Senior Vice President of Engineering for Warner Music Group, where he is building a next generation enterprise PaaS. Dave has coined the term "Data Gravity", which he recognized through extensive research over the past several years. He has presented at many conferences, including DeployCon, Gluecon, Interop Big Data, VMworld US/Europe, RubyConf, and RailsConf to name a few. Dave is also co-author of the book titled "Advanced Server Virtualization", and holds 9 granted Patents. He also co-founded 2 startups, Surgient Inc. and Hyper9, where he was Chief Scientist/CTO.

David Mortman is the Chief Security Architect for enStratius and Contributing Analyst at Securosis. Most recently he was the Director of Security and Operations for C3, LLC. Formerly the Chief Information Security Officer for Siebel Systems, Inc., David and his team were responsible for Siebel's worldwide IT security infrastructure, both internal and external. He also worked closely with Siebel's product groups and the company's physical security team and is leading up Siebel's product security and privacy efforts. Previously, Mr. Mortman was Manager of IT Security at Network Associates, where, in addition to managing data security, he deployed and tested all of NAI's security products before they were released to customers. Before that, Mortman was a Security Engineer for Swiss Bank. Mr. Mortman is a regular speaker at RSA, Blackhat, Defcon. In the past year, he has presented at RSA, Secure360, SecTor, SecZone, BruCon, Blackhat and Defcon. Mr. Mortman sits on a variety of advisory boards including Qualys, Lookout and Reflective amongst others. He holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of Chicago.

Margaret Dawson has more than 20 years of experience in global leadership for both start-ups and Fortune 500 technology companies, including Microsoft and Amazon.com. An avid speaker and technologist, Margaret is a frequent author and presenter on cloud computing, data management, network security, integration and other business and technology themes. She is currently Vice President of Product Marketing and Cloud Evangelist for HP Cloud Services. Prior to HP, she ran product management and marketing for two cloud start-ups in the B2B integration and data storage markets. Margaret serves on the Cloud Connect Advisory Council and the steering committee for the Cloud Network of Women (CloudNOW).

As ActiveState Software’s President and CEO since 2006, Bart Copeland brings more than twenty-three years of leadership, management, finance, and technology business experience to his role. With a passion for technologies that help people lead more productive and enjoyable lives, Bart is currently focused on Stackato, ActiveState’s private platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering. Bart views PaaS as an enabler to accelerate cloud adoption and deliver value in enterprises, and is actively involved in Stackato strategy, business development, and evangelism. Bart is also an active angel investor and serves as a director for a number of other tech companies. He holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix and a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia.

Duncan is a serial entrepreneur and industry visionary with over twenty years experience in the software industry. Immediately prior to founding Cloudsoft Duncan was CTO at Enigmatec Corporation, the enterprise data center automation company he founded in 2001. A Computerworld Smithsonian Laureate for his pioneering work introducing Java Enterprise to financial services, Duncan holds an MSc in Computation from Oxford University and a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Leeds University.

Paul Weiss is the Technical Marketing Manager at Eucalyptus Systems working with Enterprise customers across the globe. He worked at VMware for over 3 years and has worked with virtualization products for many years. He has also worked as a VMware Specialist at a Premier VMware Partner, a Senior Systems Architect with a primary focus on large Sun environments, and as a Sun Certified Instructor. Paul has over 17 years of Enterprise IT experience and is certified in many solutions like Solaris, Red Hat and VMware. Paul also served in the U.S. Army for 15 years and is a Gulf War veteran.

Alex Brandt is a Technical Trainer at Rackspace, the open cloud company, where he works to teach Linux, Cloud and Software Development. An emerging evangelist for all things Cloud, Alex has worked in IT support and solutioning as well as research in the realm of Physics. Currently, Alex assists with Rackspace's Cloud Savvy training program and is helping Rackspace extend it's cloud expertise even further. Alex hols a B.S. in Computer Science and Physics from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Dan Baigent is the Sr. Director of Business Development for HP Cloud Services. Dan is responsible for HP Cloud Services solution partners, strategic partners and business strategies. Dan joined HP in 2010 as the Sr. Director of Strategic Alliances in HP’s Corporate Development group, managing the HP-Intel relationship. Prior to HP, Dan worked for Sun Microsystems (Oracle) where he was the Sr. Director of Strategic Alliances for a variety of Strategic Partners including IBM, HP, Dell and Oracle. While at Sun, Dan worked as the Director of Engineering for Sun’s Desktop Software organization, as a Technical Portfolio Manager for Sun’s Corporate Development team, and as the Western Regional Systems Engineering manager for JavaSoft. Dan started his career as a software developer for McDonnell-Douglas and has a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Cybernetic Systems. Dan is co-inventor on several 3-D desktop patents.

Mark Hinkle is the Senior Director of Cloud Computing Community at Citrix Systems Inc. He joined Citrix as a result of their July 2011 acquisition of Cloud.com where he was their Vice President of Community. He is currently responsible for Citrix open source efforts around the open source cloud computing platform, Apache CloudStack and the Xen Hypervisor. Previously he was the VP of Community at Zenoss Inc., a producer of the open source application, server, and network management software, where he grew the Zenoss Core project to over 100,000 users and 20,000 organizations on all seven continents. He also is a longtime open source expert and author having served as Editor-in-Chief for both LinuxWorld Magazine and Enterprise Open Source Magazine. Mr. Hinkle is also the author of the book, “Windows to Linux Business Desktop Migration.” (Thomson, 2006). Seth Robinson is currently the director of technology analysis for CompTIA, the leading trade association for the IT industry. Previously, he spent 10 years in processor development at IBM, building the chips for the Xbox360, PS3, and Wii U. In his current role, he analyzes technology trends in the IT industry and provides insight into trend drivers and future direction. Seth has led research studies on cloud computing, mobility, social media, and IT security, among other areas. He has been cited in various media outlets, including Wall Street Journal and USA Today, for his thoughts on how businesses are using technology and how the role of IT is changing.

Since joining GGV Capital as a Partner in 2006, Glenn has led GGV's investments in Pandora (NYSE: P), Successfactors (NYSE: SFSF/Acq by SAP), Isilon (NASDAQ: ISLN/Acq by EMC), Quinstreet (NASDAQ: QNST), Square, Conviva, and Zendesk, helping the first four successfully navigate the initial public offering process. He is also actively involved with GGV's investments in Appirio, BlueKai, Buddy Media (acquired by Salesforce.com) and China Talent Group (CTG). Glenn focuses on enterprise software-as-a-service (Saas), cloud infrastructure and mobile. Prior to GGV, Glenn was a General Partner with Partech International, where he led successful investments in Broadbase Software (acquired by Kana), Datacenter Technologies (acquired by Veritas/Symantec), Digital Island (acquired by Cable & Wireless), Pentasafe (acquired by NetIQ) and Vignette (NASDAQ:VIGN). Earlier in his career, Glenn worked with Goldman Sachs and also with SPO Partners, a San Francisco-based private investment partnership. Glenn graduated from Stanford University, where he started on three NCAA championship tennis teams, and also earned an M.B.A from Stanford where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Scott Bils has nearly two decades of expertise in technology business and product strategy, operations, corporate and business development, mergers and acquisitions, and alliances in the early stage and next generation information technology (IT) markets. As the leader of Everest Group's Next Generation IT practice, Scott approaches each consulting engagement with service providers, infrastructure vendors, and buyers with an end-to-end understanding of disruptive cloud technologies, virtualization, and mobile computing.

Prior to joining Everest Group, Scott founded and was the CEO of Conformity, Inc., a venture-backed provider of on-demand cloud identity and SaaS management solutions. At Troux Technologies, a leading venture-backed provider of enterprise architecture and IT governance software solutions, he drove dramatic increases in revenue and average selling prices through organic and acquisition-driven expansion of the company's product portfolio. Scott was also a consultant at McKinsey & Company and Accenture leading and facilitating engagements that resulted in significant cost savings for clients.

Scott has an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and a BA in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is frequently quoted in the New York Times, Forbes, Network World, Sandhill.com and other media outlets and analyst reports on SaaS and the cloud. He was also the primary author of the corporate blog, SaaS Management: Challenges of the On-Demand World.

Andre serves IT Infrastructure & Operations Professionals. He is a leading expert on network operations and architecture. His research focuses on networking technology and strategy, mobile network infrastructure, application delivery networking, data center convergence, and network infrastructure security. He helps Forrester clients develop and improve their strategy around infrastructure investment and optimization. His analysis balances technology with business strategy to ensure IT maximizes operational and financial efficiency.

Previous Work Experience: Prior to his role at Forrester, Andre worked for 10 years in the networking industry at HP's networking division and at Cisco Systems as a networking and security marketing manager, assessing the market and driving the creation and adoption of products and solutions to solve complex business challenges. Prior to these roles, he was an engineer who tackled complicated system dynamics for GenCorp Aerojet, a leader in space missile and propulsion. He developed a broad range of skills and quickly evolved into a system integrator, where he ensured the success of a low-cost, reusable rocket program.

Education: Andre graduated from the University of California, Davis, in 1994 and has Bachelor of Science degrees in mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and aeronautical science and engineering. Additionally, he has a pending CISSP certificate from (ISC)2 and has received certificates from UC Davis in network administration and management and routing and switching technologies.

My name is John O’Farrell, and I’m a Partner, along with Marc Andreessen, Ben Horowitz, Jeff Jordan, Peter Levine and Scott Weiss, at the enture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz based in Menlo Park, California. Over the last fifteen years, I’ve been fortunate to play a key role at three high-growth startups that have grown to substantial scale and had a significant impact on the world in different ways. Over a thirty-year career, I’ve also worked in, and partnered with, some very large corporations and have a good understanding of how big companies work. I get to draw on that operating experience every day in my new role as a VC.

From 1997 to 2001, I founded and ran the international business for @Home Network, a company co-founded by Kleiner Perkins’s John Doerr and the largest US cable companies, that pioneered the broadband Internet we take for granted today. My international division grew to $70M in revenue, 280,000 broadband customers and 500 employees in 10 countries. As for @Home, it took off almost vertically and flew high before being laid low by a disastrous merger with Excite, poorly-managed Wall Street expectations and a byzantine corporate ownership structure. I’m proud to say most of the international operations we built survive to this day, albeit with different brand names and shareholders. Lots of lessons learned (and material for future blog posts!) from those four years!

Next up was Loudcloud, the original cloud computing company, where I joined my now-partners Marc and Ben right after a spectacularly difficult IPO in 2001. In his blog, Ben has written about the exciting times we went through together: Downsizing and restructuring in a brutal recession; managing to sell all of our revenue, all of our liabilities, and 140 employees to EDS; restarting as Opsware, a data center software company with a massive software license from EDS; acquiring four companies, partnering with Cisco, NTT, NEC and HP, and building an exceptional product and sales organization to create a $100M+/year enterprise software business; and finally negotiating a sale to HP in 2007 for $1.6 billion, in a great outcome for the shareholders, customers and employees who stuck with us. Over six-and–a half years, I got the chance to participate in all of these extraordinary events first-hand, and to lead all of
our major partnerships and M&A transactions personally.

After Opsware and prior to Andreessen Horowitz, I spent about two years at another large high-growth startup that’s applying the latest communications and information technology to transform the world’s electricity grid. At Silver Spring Networks, my team and I led the initiative to take the company global, from developing the initial cross-company strategy to a detailed multi-year operational plan and initial projects in Latin America, Europe and Asia. I can attest that working with electric utilities and partners like GE and ABB is the ultimate in complex enterprise sales!

I’m originally from Dublin, Ireland and have lived in Ireland, Germany, Luxembourg and the United States. I’ve traveled extensively for business and leisure in Brazil, Europe and Asia. I speak Portuguese, German and French. Although I carry American and EU passports, I consider myself a citizen of the world.

Mark is the chief information officer of BMC Software. In addition to running BMC Software’s IT department, Mark is a rare CIO who makes customer calls, as he helps many of the BMC Software’s customers (who in many cases are CIOs) understand how best to leverage BMC’s offering.

Prior to his time with BMC Software, Mark served as the CIO of four Fortune 300 companies: Corporate Express, Arrow Electronics, Visa International and Occidental Petroleum, making him one of the most seasoned CIOs in the United States. Mark has worked in a variety of industries including consumer products, high tech distribution, financial services and oil & gas. During the early stages of his career, he held P&L responsibilities as the Director of a systems integration business unit within Hughes Aircraft Company.

Mark’s formal education is in the Geological Sciences. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from MIT and a PhD from Brown University. He is also former Air Force officer and NASA Program Scientist.

Christian is an accomplished and forward-thinking engineering professional, with over 16 years of experience managing large technology teams and driving development strategies for a wide range of innovative data center solutions. A pioneer in virtualization, Christian was building clouds long before they were clouds. Teeft is the architect behind Latisys’ next generation managed hosting and cloud services platform and is responsible for enabling Latisys to deliver innovative, scalable IT Outsourcing solutions to enterprise customers—today and tomorrow.

For nine years prior to joining Latisys, Teeft served in various capacities with NTT America, most recently as VP of Product Development, Engineering and OSS. In that role, Teeft served as a core member of the management team—driving the company’s technology strategy and leading multiple engineering teams responsible for Platform, Storage, Network, OSS and Custom Engineering. He also led R&D for new products and services and managed the hosting infrastructure for several data centers.

Ryan is a founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures. At Storm Ventures, Ryan focuses on enterprise IT and web opportunities. He has primarily invested in SaaS (Crowd Factory / Acquired by Marketo, BlackStratus), mobile (Appcelerator) and cloud/internet related investments (Hubpages, Kidaro/Acquired by Microsoft, MetaCloud, Spalshtop and Swiftstack). He has also invested in semiconductors/components as well (SandForce /Acquired by LSI and Ignis Optics /Acquired by Bookham).

Prior to founding Storm Ventures, Ryan directed the business development activities at E-TEK Dynamics where he focused on building strategic OEM and customer relationships, scaling E-TEK’s manufacturing operations as well as directing the equity investing and acquisition activities until E-TEK merged with JDS Uniphase in 2000.

Prior to joining E-TEK, Ryan was with Summit Partners, a private equity firm, where he focused primarily on IT, including Summit’s investment in E-TEK Dynamics in July 1997.

Ryan received his B.S. and M.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University.
