9:15 AM – 10:00 AM: Keynote - Data Gravity and Complex Systems (Using this to your advantage in the Cloud and the Datacenter) by Dave McCrory, Warner Music Group
Data Gravity and Complex Systems play a role in Cloud services and capabilities both inside Enterprise Datacenters and outside with Cloud providers. Data Gravity naturally draws applications and services closer to Data sources. Complex Systems create opportunities for dramatic changes and improvements in how we manage the interactions of Data, Applications, and Services. Learning to discover and leverage these behaviors and patterns can allow you to avoid lock-in, increased management costs, and derive other benefits.
10:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Keynote - Intel IT PaaS Journey – Idea to Production in less than a day by Das Kamhout, Intel
What if enterprise developers could have an idea for an app, code it and deploy it into production in less than a day? Intel IT is addressing that challenge by establishing PaaS for the developers of custom applications. The promise of PaaS was determined strategically important in 2010 to extend the value of Intel IT’s award winning IaaS cloud for the web developer community at Intel. Das Kamhout, will share how the Intel IT Cloud leadership team made the case for this investment that was deemed unclear, and explain the PaaS journey, describing the approach and success/failures. This session will emphasize how an Enterprise IT shop needs to adapt faster towards consuming and running a rich set of cloud services.

PaaS makes developers (and possibly operations) lives much easier. But what are the security implications of migrating to PaaS? Does PaaS lead to more secure code? What about a more secure deployment? In principal yes, but what are the realities? How many unicorns do you get and just what’s in that pot at the end of the rainbow and what can you do with what you find?

Thursday Keynotes Agenda
Are Clouds the Gateway Drug to a Quantified Society?
Topics that will be discussed include:
Fear & Loathing in Corporate IT: A Savage Journey to the Cloud
It all seemed innocent enough as employees started experimenting with the cloud: popping a few compute instances, dropping the latest collaboration cloud, or mainlining a PaaS to build a cool new Web app. But then the line between IT reality and rogue clouds became blurred, and we entered into an era of Gonzo IT, where the cloud is personal and the truth is hard to find. Amid this cloud haze, we struggle to even locate all our corporate data, let alone secure it. Join this journey and discover how IT leaders can gain back control of the cloud and data without being a complete downer to the rest of the organization. And how, in fact, you can be the new source of cloud ecstasy for your users.
The Future of Data: Personal Trust Models or Information Anarchy? The future of data is already here. Folders and files matter less and less; consumers expect content to be available anytime, anywhere. And users willingly sacrifice privacy in return for convenience and collaboration. But with the meteoric rise of data, the ubiquity of clouds, and sophisticated attackers showing their fangs, that future is anything but clear.
This session will look a range of possible tomorrows. Will our future give us information everywhere with good security and control? Will it be more like the disconnected dystopia of Battlestar Galactica, or the creepy Orweillian world of Minority Report? Or will it be something entirely different? Will new interfaces to information break down cultural and linguistic barriers—or reinforce them?
Whatever the case, it's clear that there's an information war on the horizon. Join Margaret Dawson and Ed Saipetch for a roller-coaster-ride towards tomorrow as we explore new ways to fight, communicate, collaborate, and protect our online lives.
