CEO, Nebula and Co-Founder, OpenStack, Nebula

When Chris C. Kemp left his position as CTO for IT at NASA, he wrote in his blog, "I am leaving the place I dreamed of working as a kid to find a garage in Palo Alto to do what I love." As CEO of Nebula, Chris continues a career trend that has focused on breaking new ground, fostering process, standards and innovation, and forging pivotal partnerships. At NASA, where he also served as CIO of the Ames Research Center, he co-founded the OpenStack project and started the Nebula Cloud Computing project, a significant turning point for open source and cloud computing. He also served as chairman of the White House Federal Cloud Computing Standards Working Group and was a member of the Cloud Computing Executive Steering Committee. He also helped build partnerships with key IT partners, including Google and Microsoft. Prior to joining NASA, Chris contributed to the creation of the third largest online community Classmates.com, the leading web-based vacation rental platform Escapia, and the first online grocery shopping platform for Kroger, the world's largest grocery store chain.
