Traditional IT services are being transformed as they adapt and scale to meet the evolving needs of information workers and task workers. Today, work can be conducted at home, on smartphones, via traditional office settings or at remote locations. Emerging IT innovations are allowing us to "connect, collaborate, compute and communicate in a virtualized workplace" through the web, via laptop/desktops, and via the Cloud. The traditional office is undergoing a tectonic shift. As the Workplace of the Future takes hold, new ways to deliver and host technologies and manage business processes are taking shape that dramatically impact how business is conducted. And this will change how IT is consumed, deployed, and managed. IT is the single biggest threat to the competitiveness of the business, therefore it must be a C Level priority and concern. This session will introduce the Workplace of the Future, and IBM's point of view for how it can help clients prepare and address this strategic opportunity.
