Dan Ashton, Sr. Manager, Solutions Marketing , Commerce Cloud Solutions, joined Ariba in 2008 initially responsible for Services Procurement and Content. Mr. Ashton has over a decade of sales and marketing experience in enterprise software most recently from I-many where he was Sr. Director of Solutions Marketing. Prior to I-many, Mr. Ashton was Sr. Director of Product Marketing with Nextance and Vice President of Product Marketing with Niku now a part of CA. He was also a director on the marketing team at Chemdex / Ventro, the first B2B market exchange to go public in 1999. Mr. Ashton holds a bachelors degree in Chemistry from the State University of NY at Oswego.

As Senior Director, Cisco SP Marketing organization, Simon Aspinall leads teams that are responsible for marketing of Cisco’s mobility and data center solutions to Telecoms, Cable, Media and Broadcast customers worldwide. The team is responsible for developing, launching and driving successful marketing campaigns across the entire product range for Mobility and SP data-centers (including the evolution towards SP cloud computing). Aspinall is a frequent speaker at industry events and a commentator on the IT, telecoms, and networking sectors.
Before Cisco, Aspinall spent eight years at Mercer Management Consulting, a firm providing management and financial consultancy to the worldwide telecoms sector. Aspinall was also the founder and non-executive director of an Internet incubator with operations in five countries. He holds an MBA (Insead) and a master’s degree in Engineering & Computer Science (Oxford University).

Satish Hemachandran is Director of Product Management at SunGard Availability Services where he is responsible for defining the product strategy and direction for SunGard's utility platform and services. Prior to SunGard, Satish was a Senior Product Line Manager at Sun Microsystems where he was responsible for launching a Java based communications and mobile application. His earlier work included various engineering and services roles at Sun and Netscape developing middleware technologies. Satish has a MBA from Emory University and a MS in Chemical Engineering from University of Toledo. He received his undergraduate degree from Anna University in Chemical Engineering.

As Executive Vice President Products and Chief Technology Officer, Indu Kodukula runs the product organization at SunGard Availability Services, with overall responsibility for development and delivery of new products that contribute to top-line revenue. Among other things, the Product organization uses technological innovation to spearhead new service development, evaluates technology platforms, defines requirements for new products, engineers them and supports the delivery of these products to the operations organization.
Indu joins SunGard Availability Services from Oracle where he was Vice President of Service Delivery Platform Products within Oracle Communications and ran product management and development for the Oracle Communications Service Delivery Platform. In this role, he was responsible for end-to-end product strategy and delivery of the Oracle Service Delivery Platform set of products.

Prior to joining Oracle, Indu was Senior Director of Product Management at BEA for the WebLogic Communications Platform (WLCP) where he co-created the overall vision and product strategy that resulted in an entirely new business within BEA. Indu’s earlier work experience at BEA included business development for the WebLogic Workshop team where as part of the Workshop management team, he helped grow the presence of WebLogic Workshop from zero to adoption by several hundred thousand developers over 24 months.

Prior to joining BEA in 2001, Indu was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey and Company where he advised senior management at Telecommunications and software clients. Indu’s work at McKinsey included several high-profile engagements including advising the Department of Justice on a key anti-trust trial.

Indu has a PhD in Computer Science from Cornell. His dissertation work on parallelizing compilers earned him a patent and was subsequently implemented in the high-end parallelizing compiler product at Silicon Graphics. Indu received his undergraduate degree from IIT Madras in Computer Science where he graduated with honors.

Arthur Chiang, Vice President, Workplace Services, is responsible for developing a standardized, profitable, market driven portfolio
of focused, innovative and differentiated Workplace Services products and solutions.

Previously, Arthur was responsible for Brand Management and Market Development at Applications on Demands. AoD was formerly Corio Inc., which was acquired by IBM in March, 2005. Arthur was a Senior Vice President at Corio since its inception in 1999 and held a number of roles including Business Development, Sales, Alliances, Acquisitions, Investor Relations, and Marketing.

Arthur formerly managed Worldwide Professional Services at BEA, Inc., and services business units at Oracle Corporation and other software companies. Arthur also was a Principal at Booz,
Allen & Hamilton, a management consultancy.

Mathew Lodge is Senior Director in VMware's Cloud Services group. Mathew has more than 18 years' experience in the technology industry. Previously, Mathew was Senior Director at Symantec, where he led the go to market for its $1Bn+ information management group. Prior to Symantec, Mathew held a series of senior product management and marketing roles at Proficient Networks, CPlane, Cisco Systems and Schlumberger. Mathew has a masters' in Software Engineering from the University of York, and is an alumni of London Business School.

Patrick Harr is vice president of Worldwide Cloud Strategy and Solutions for HP Enterprise Business. In this role he is responsible for driving the company’s cloud strategy and delivering its cloud portfolio. Prior to joining HP, Harr had executive leadership roles for such companies as Preventsys, McData, Sanera, CacheFlow and Novell. He was the founder and chief executive officer of Nirvanix, a leading enterprise cloud storage start-up.
Most recently, Harr held an executive position with VMware running sales and marketing for end user computing solutions.

Ben Kepes is an analyst, an entrepreneur, a commentator and a business adviser. His business interests include a diverse range of industries from manufacturing to property to technology. As a commentator he has a broad presence both in the traditional media and as an extensive blogger. He sits on the boards of a number of organisations, both commercial and not-for-profit. Ben is well connected having spoken at length with the vast majority of SaaS players in existence.

David Bernstein is the Managing director of Cloud Strategy Partners. Most recently, has was VP/GM in Cisco’s Office of the CTO. His team ran Cisco’s Cloud Lab, was responsible for Cisco’s University, Research, and Industry activities in Cloud Computing. He headed development for Cisco’s Cloud Security, Interoperability and Standards initiatives.

David’s experience includes executive positions in AT&T, Siebel Systems, Pluris, InterTrust, and Santa Cruz Operation.

His extensive consulting experience along with his recent leadership and expertise in Cloud Computing has led to the formation of Cloud Strategy Partners, LLC.

David holds nearly a dozen patents in software and communications, publishes research regularly in IEEE, ACM, and IARIA conferences, and is a member of the IEEE Advanced Technology Executive Forum. He was a key author/contributor to many industry standards such as OpenSOA.org, OASIS SCA, WS-I, JCP/J2EE, and IEEE POSIX.

David holds degrees in Physics and Mathematics from University of California where he was awarded the UC Regents Scholar designation for his work for the Office of Naval Research.

Adrian founded the open source jclouds multi-cloud library 2 years ago, and is actively engaged in cloud interoperability and devops circles. Recent efforts include vCloud ecosystem engineering at VMware, Java integration at Opscode, and cloud portability efforts at Cloudsoft. Adrian's currently consulting under Cloud Conscious LLC.

David Pallmann is a Windows Azure MVP and author of the upcoming book, The Azure Handbook. He is GM of the App Dev practice at Neudesic, a national Microsoft SI partner, where he leads technical readiness, IP development, and business development for the Windows Azure platform.

David Kavanagh is a software engineer for Eucalyptus Systems, a cloud infrastructure company based in Santa Barbara, CA. Prior to that he was a software consultant for 12 years. He has been designing and developing software for 20 years. Since 2006, his focus has been on cloud computing with a lot of time spent developing solutions using Amazon Web Services. He is the author of the open source typica library which provides a Java interface for an expanding set of Amazon Web Services. David lives in upstate NY.

James Urquhart manages cloud computing infrastructure strategy for the Server Provider Systems Unit of Cisco Systems. Named one of the ten most influential people in cloud computing by the MIT Technology Review, and author of the popular cloud computing blog, The Wisdom of Clouds (http://news.cnet.com/the-wisdom-of-clouds), Mr. Urquhart brings a deep understanding of these disruptive technologies and the business opportunities they afford. James has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Mathematics from Macalester College.

Bernard Golden has been called a “cloud guru.” He is CEO of HyperStratus, a Silicon Valley cloud consulting firm that helps its clients plan, design, and implement cloud computing. HyperStratus clients include mBlox, Applied Biosystems, and the County of Santa Clara. Bernard is the Cloud Computing Advisor for CIO Magazine, which publishes his highly popular blog examining the benefits and challenges of cloud computing. He is the author or co-author of three books on virtualization and cloud computing, including Virtualization for Dummies, the most popular book on the subject ever published. Bernard is a popular speaker, appearing at many conferences like CloudWorld, Structure, and EDUCAUSE.

Sam Johnston is an independent consultant delivering cloud computing solutions for large enterprises, having previously worked as a technical program manager in the Site Reliability Engineering team at Google Switzerland. Before joining Google, Sam worked at Citrix Systems and served as founder and CTO for a number of successful high-tech start-ups in Australia, France and Ireland. A computer scientist at heart, he was recently listed as one of the leaders of cloud computing, having been an active contributor to the cloud computing community since its inception (particularly in the areas of security, standards and interoperability).

Sam has advised and architected pilots for various European enterprises (including one of the earliest and largest commercial cloud deployments to date, started in 2006 with 35,000 users) and presented at a number of international conferences on the subject.

Sam earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, having moved from his home town of Perth, Western Australia in 1996 to accept a Co-op scholarship in Electrical Engineering.

Alex brings twenty years experience designing software solutions in the enterprise, start-up, and academic sectors. Most recently Alex was with Enigmatec Corporation where he led the development of what is now the Monterey® Middleware Platform™. Previous to that, he founded PocketWatch Systems, commercialising results from his doctoral research.

Alex holds a PhD (Informatics) and an MSc (Cognitive Science) from the University of Edinburgh and an AB (Mathematics) from Princeton University. Alex was both a USA Today Academic All-Star and a Marshall Scholar.

Andrew Shafer is a lead engineer and infrastructure consultant at Cloudscaling where he helps organizations leverage and create next generation cloud computing resources and platforms. Since 2004, he has been a regular participant in the Salt Lake City Agile Roundtable and a team member or manager in an Agile setting. Andrew brings with him a background in computational science, embedded Linux, database administration, web frameworks, and operations. In addition to technical expertise, Andrew is focused on finding ways to balance prescriptive processes with the uniqueness of projects and teams.
